Tesla’s production figures for the first quarter 2018 were released recently and provided great support to the company’s mission to accelerate the adoption of electric cars. Elon Musk’s company is under intense pressure as it strives to ramp up production of its first affordable car, the Model 3, which is seen as a game changer as it will appeal to a wide variety of customers, particularly with the forthcoming $ 35,000 base model.
The performance-based compensation package Tesla’s board recently proposed for Tesla CEO Elon Musk has drawn a variety of responses to date. After two of the most prominent proxy advisory firms out there came out against the proposal and urged shareholders to vote against it, Tesla’s fourth largest investor, the T. Rowe Price Group, seemingly came out in favor of the proposal
Some other members of our Tesla Shuttle team installed Tesla software updates on our Model S earlier in the year, but the first time I personally did so was the day after Christmas (or 2nd day of Christmas as some people call it). I was a little uncertain whether to do the update at that time — we needed to leave approximately 2 hrs later and the car said it would take 1 hour and 40 minutes. Additionally, I was a little concerned about how much energy it might take. We had an 85% charge but quite a ways to drive. “How much energy does a Tesla software update take?” I had never thought to ask and didn’t recall seeing this information somewhere, so I searched online. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find an answer

It was a rather wild week — for reasons I don’t need to repeat — and it was also a bit of an atypical week for topics that took the crowd by storm here on CleanTechnica. Yes, Tesla held its usual spot at the top of the tables — and all over the top 20. But we also had popular stories about the Toyota Prius Prime, Antarctic Larsen C ice shelf, and nuclear cargo shipping, for example. Have a look at the most popular stories of the past week
